To order packaging tape, start by choosing your preferred type of packaging tape suitable for your packing needs. Next, you can design your packaging tape online using customizable templates or simply upload your own design if you have one ready. Once your design is set, you can proceed to place your order through the printing company’s website, selecting the quantity and any other specific requirements before completing your purchase.
To make packaging tape, you have two primary options. The first is to use an online designer, where you can start from scratch or select an existing template to customize according to your needs. Let's take a look at some creative ideas to make use of packaging tape in an engaging way:
Richard Drew And The Invention Of Pressure-Sensitive Tape
Did you know that adhesive tape, an almost vital asset in packaging and office supplies, was originally invented to innovate the way auto-shops painted cars? Actually, the word "Scotch" was a misinterpretation of the word "cheap", which ended up sticking (get it?) to the newly invented product.
It was the American inventor Richard Gurley Drew who came up with the great invention of pressure-sensitive tape when working for the widely famous 3M corporation during the 1920's. He was originally involved in the development of sandpaper, but his innovative mind led him to try out new applications.
While working on a way to ease the process of two-color car paint-jobs, he introduced masking-tape, but its adhesive properties were only present at the edges, so they tended to fall off. "Take this tape back to those Scotch bosses of yours and tell them to put more adhesive on it!", were the words of an angry auto-painter dissatisfied with the results.
That event made Drew come up with the first adhesive-backed masking tape, and further inventions like the first cellophane tape, which was called Scotch tape in the United States and "sellotape" in the UK.
Drew's invention has never gone out of use and is still used in any office, business or home you can think of. His name will be remembered for a very long time, but we can still innovate and come up with original and inspiring ideas to provide new mods and uses for Drew's adhesive tape.
